Frank Castle walks a lonely walk.
Sorry for the delay, busy first half of the week. So Punisher. Yet another reboot in the recent series of Marvel reboots and I for one… think it works.
The story of the Punisher is of a regular man named Frank Castle with a wife, daughter who while out on a Sunday picnic, witnesses his family murdered by the mob with him left holding them dead in his arms.
His walk of normallacy then changes and Frank Castle becomes known as the “Punisher”.
The story jumps in with Castle in the hunt of the mob boss family that was responsible for his families death. The opening scene is quite amazing… and a little over the top in the gore department (which is a theme throughout the rest of the movie) but still quite impressive. Frank ends up killing an FBI agent undercover on a sting of which he ends up blaming himself. The movie follows him through his emotional journey through making amends for his judgement.
Other movie reviewers have said that the movie is way to talky. I liked the characters and liked them being fleshed out in this movie. Ray Stevenson (Punisher) really plays the role well. He has the on-screen presence to get shoot, stabbed or a broken limb and have him still grab the perp that did that to him and slam his skull into the other guy to knock him out.
Overall, the movie did only pull in $4 Million last weekend (I chucked in some change for that) and it’s uncertain if we will see a sequel. Great popcorn flick that is marred by a little too much gore (that the special effects couldn’t make it look real… so really what is the point?) but a solid good guy vs. bad guy moving.
I give it a ** out of ****

Headin’ to see : “Punisher : Warzone” tomorrow.

Congresswoman hangs up on Obama, thinks it was a prank call.

LOL.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen apparently was fooled.
Snippet:
After a minute or so, Ms Ros-Lehtinen cut Mr Obama off, telling him she was not fooled by the hoax and that he was a better Obama impersonator than Fred Armisen, the man who does an impression of Mr Obama on the TV comedy show Saturday Night Live.
Either way, quite funny. More over @ BBC World

Here is why Ford, Chrysler and GM need to fail.

Alright so as I’m writing this, I’m watching on CNN—these crooks, who are begging Washington DC to give them money to “adjust” to the changing economy.
Let’s get something straight for the record… I get that letting them fail will cause workers to loose their jobs…. I get that dealerships will close, I get that all that money (which lets be honest…. isn’t real money, it’s all borrowed money) that is being used to pay these people, will go away, and that will cause the economy to slow even further.
Right now…. Our Government is debating whether or not to “buy” into these companies, allow “credit” to continue, loaned money to pay people’s pay checks, and Ford, GM, Chrysler continue to make cars that they cannot sell, because none of the people in the US want to buy them.
Really, it’s not about hybrids…. it’s not even about fuel mileage (if we’re being honest)— It’s the quality. Why is it that I have owned 4 Subaru’s over the past 15 years and 0 American made cars? Simple…. Quality. DL Hughley on CNN a couple weeks ago on his show had Bernie Frank on his show…. He said that he and his dad went out to buy a Ford on Nov. 3rd…. and then he said on Nov. 4th, it was in the shop for repairs. Bernie Frank had a blank stare on his face.
It just made me laugh but at the same time is quite sad.
So really— If you’re asking… “Aaron, why are you so hell bent on them failing?”
Simple. First; Bush has done a crap job of inflating the market during his presidency. The loans we have given out to all parties have not done jack… except deflate our US dollar. Second…. All of the CEO’s have not even said they are taking a pay cut. Why is that important? Well lets see…. if they are screwing the company into the ground, they are taking as much money as they can in order to live comfortably for the rest of their days post CEO positions. Third; Unions. If the companies file for Chapter 11, the unions lose the power (finally) which would open up more opportunities for other workers. Fourth; No one wants to buy a GM, Ford or Chrysler car. I would rather own a Hyundai than drive a Ford… I would rather drive a KIA than drive a Chrysler Seabring, I would rather drive a Mitsubishi Montero (which yes, Mitsubishi makes TV’s and Toasters….) than a Chevy Tahoe.
Overall, the economy has been over inflated, the dollar is now weaker due to all these loans (and pending loans) and the entire market needs to readjust itself. What is disheartening is the fact that our Government seems to keep stepping in and screwing it up with continued loans.
Right now everything is in a downward spiral. No one knows what to do and the CEO’s think more money is the answer, the stakes are big but the future stakes are even bigger.

6 out of 10 people can’t be wrong… can they?

According to CNN, 6 out of 10 people believe that GM, Ford and Chrysler should not get money.
Look at these guys….Do we really want to give them $45 Billion?!*
*notice how that number jumped from $25 Billion to $45 Billion in just a couple of weeks?
Simply unreal.

Democrats lose hope of Filibuster proof house and senate tonight.

So who the hell is that dude to my left? His name is Saxby Chambliss.
He is one of the players who will be keeping the Senate “fair and balanced” right? Really, who knows. What I hope he does though, is take ownership of his role and lead by example in his term.

Windows 7 to debut @ CES 2009

I know… bit of a slacker when it comes to updates… apologies.
Anyhoo, exciting news (for me and other techno-nerds)—-
Almost an afterthought, Windows 7 is going to pick up the pieces of where Vista left off. Truthfully, Microsoft has some major damage control to do and it looks to come out swinging with yet another Beta (preview version) of Windows 7 @ CES in January (8th-11th) next year.
There is also some other news as well. Below are dates and times of the MSDN conferences where you will be able to pick up a copy of Windows 7 Beta 1 in your grubby little hands:
| Date | City |
|---|---|
| 12/9/08 | Houston, TX |
| 12/11/08 | Orlando, FL |
| 12/16/08 | Atlanta, GA |
| 1/13/09 | Chicago, IL |
| 1/13/09 | Minneapolis, MN |
| 1/16/09 | Washington, DC |
| 1/20/09 | New York, NY |
| 1/22/09 | Boston, MA |
| 1/22/09 | Detroit, MI |
| 1/26/09 | Dallas, TX |
| 2/19/90 | San Francisco, CA |
Either way, doesn’t seem like you can go wrong and I’m sure Win7 will be finding its way to the net around that time too right? (*Coughs* Right Microsoft?)
More after the jump.
So we’re about $100 bucks off the high of what… $147 a barrel? Gas prices in the Northwest are about $1.78 for 87 Octane Regular Unleaded.
